The Last Polka
Have you ever become really close friends with someone over the span of less than 48 hours, only to say goodbye, part and never ever see each other again? I guess I was in denial, because I honestly thought I'd see this person again. Our paths have to cross again, one way or another, I thought. But now I'm not so sure anymore, and it's gotten me all depressed. We're headed in two completely opposite directions, towards the opposite ends of the earth, it seems, with no means of criss-crossing. The only comforting thought I have is knowing that when I'm no longer a broke student I'll be able to travel everywhere and visit all my friends, if not for anything other than old times sake. I know it won't be the same then, but it's still a happy thought for me. And some things'll still be the same and won't change: Zak and Sara will still be there, and we can laugh again at Levi Smith's tales of Texas *
