Experiment gone wrong...sort of

I don't know if you know of my little betta fish experiment, so I'll fill you in. A couple weeks ago I was at the pet store and saw a female betta fish and thought 'hey, that'd be cool if I could get bettas to mate to have little baby bettas.' It sounded like an interesting experiment at the time, so I stuck the male and female in a tank to see what would happen. The first hour goes by, and nothing happens. Second hour -- nothin. Second day -- nothing. It wasn't until about four days later that anything else besides what looked like a game of tag was being done in the tank. The two lovebirds did mate, and they did lay eggs, although we didn't realize this at the time. I was about to take him out of the tank the other day (cause I thought the experiment was over and nothing else was happening) when I saw what looked like little fleas jumping around in the water.

So now I'm the mommy of at least 100 little fish, and there's probably about 100 more eggs that haven't hatched yet. Funny thing is I didn't expect the whole thing to work, so I never planned this far. I was thinking, 'Fishies'll mate, and most likely one of em will die, and that'll be all.' Nope! I was wrong there. I've got the potential of having 100 fish and no where to put any of the ones that'll actually survive. If you'd like one, let me know and I'll be more than happy to give you one. The hard part now will be to try to keep them alive.
