The following is what happens to a fish when it gets stuck inside a log and dies. The whole piece of wood that we had inside the tank reeked for who knows how long, but we couldn't find anything inside it. I even took a powerhose to it, and nada. Then finally, after 2 months of letting the thing sit outside, the dry crusty remains get shaken out of it.
